Hi all,
Recently got the newer pro box set up for the main living room
im now trying to set up the 4K box in another room.
when I run a 10mt Ethernet cable from hub to box it works but now option for wireless 🤷🏻
the cable can’t be a permanent fixture if I want to remain married 😆
Sadly the 4K isn't wireless enabled
You have two options I'd you want to not fall foul of she who must be obeyed
A..if recording isn't crucial then a firestick or roku streaming device fits the bill.
They're actually superior to the pro box as they have now uhd and Disney.
B..if you want to record then buy a pro box off Ebay for around £75 new.
They work perfectly without a subscription
@Spewy87 Powerline Adapters or the BT black WiFi disk just need an Ethernet cable to be plugged into the 4k box from the nearest socket rather than running all the way from your hub. I have experience of both and they both work well in that situation.
4K works fine over wireless, as long as there's sufficient bandwidth - i.e. a good enough signal.
What do you mean when you say "now option for wireless"? Do you see an error when trying to watch a 4k stream?
Edit: just realised you're talking about the older 4K box. There's no wireless capability for that box, as others have mentioned. You'd need to use a wireless bridge - e.g. by plugging into a wifi extender.
@DarrenDev Are you really saying that the 4k BOX works wirelessly?
Yes, plugging into a WiFi extender is how I’ve got ours set up and it’s a really good option.
Powerline adapters worked well until we moved over to FTTP ( Full fibre), and now I’m plugged into the WiFi extender.
