Alias email password change

Hi.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I need to change the password on some of my alias emails. Whenever I click on the change password option on each account I get taken to the main account password change screen.

How do I change the password on the alias accounts.

Thanks

Re: Alias email password change

The BTMail system, which I suspect you have been migrated from BTYahoo to does not support alias email accounts and Yahoo have stopped support for them so I doubt you will be able to access the password to change it.

No. I have not transferred from yahoo.

These are aliases set up directly from within my main bt account

Re: Alias email password change

All BTYahoo and BTMail email addresses end in btinternet.com.

How long have you had the email address. If it was pre 2014 you were most likely on BTYahoo at that time.

Re: Alias email password change

In that case you will be on the BTMail system and as has been pointed out in the other threads BTMail does not support alias email addresses.

Are you referring to something else, ie "sub accounts" that you have set up from your BTBroadband email account ?

See link about sub accounts.

How do I create and activate a new BT Email address? | BT Help

If it is sub accounts that you are referring to and they have not been "gifted" to another person and are still managed by you in your "MyBT" you need to log on there and go to "Your Products" then "Mail manage" and locate the email addresses that you want to change the password and click on "see options" then follow the prompts.

If they have been gifted and the receiver has set up their own MyBT they will need to change the password via their MyBT.
