BT E-mails bouncing back - server refused mail service

Friends are reporting that some e-mails are not getting through to me. My e-mail is a @btinternet.com address and most of the e-mails sent are received OK but some are bouncing backs to the sender. They send the e-mail again and it comes through OK. This problem only started last week.

Example:

    mx.bt.lon5.cpcloud.co.uk[65.20.0.49]: server refused mail service

Does anyone have any ideas? I wonder how many e-mails I am losing?

It is difficult to know if I am still having the problem. Unless someone tells me they are receiving errors I don't know about it. What I rewally want to know is what the erro means, what caused the problem and what, if anything, I need to do to put it right.

Is anyone else getting, or has had, these or similar problems? I am not aware of any recent issues (in the last week) but I am very keen to know what caused this glitch with my BT mail account so that I can do whatever is possible to ensure I am not inconvenienced again.

I have the equivalent problem, but from the sending perspective, almost all emails sent from @fleethockey.com via a webmail host/webpage fail to get to ANY btinternet.com address, and as a result the recipients have no idea they have a problem !  This has also been affecting me (and my hockey club colleagues) for about 2 weeks now.

Dear JohnT1803 - this sounds like exactly the same issue to me. As the intended recipient, I only know of the problem if the sender contacts me and then they may hit the same problem again.

 

I am definitely still getting the problem as one friend reported the issue yesterday:

Is there anyone at BT who can assist with this problem as it is obviously not just me?

I've replied with details of my problem (had to login to the forum to get the link) and I think it's related to this one from a year ago.

My biggest problem is, I don't know how to fix it as it seems to be a GoDaddy/BT interaction issue outside of my influence.
