BT Email setup

Go to solution

I had to remove / add my account on my iPhone recently after a password change, the setup no longer supports sub folders and the mail setting showing on the iPhone are different to existing BT accounts, has anyone rebuilt their mail on a iPhone recently ? or know how I can change the setting to match the old account, APPLE state it BT issue sending the wrong set-up details. BT say it not their problem 😞

Re: BT Email setup

I suspect you have set it up as POP3 rather than IMAP. Apple devices seem to default to POP3 for some bizarre reason known only to Apple. Try setting the account up manually.

When adding the account there are no Options to set imap, four questions name, em, password & description?
the settings being returned do not align with existing working accounts

On your own thread I said to look at all the thread. Did you read message 18?

Re: BT Email setup

Please go back and re read the whole thread in the link I posted and in particular message 2 and message 18.

Message 2 in the link I posted contains the server settings.

The server settings are also in this link.

BT Email server settings | BT Help

EDIT: I now see in the other thread that you have said you have it sorted. I have now merged your posts from the other thread into this thread.

In future if you require assistance please try and keep your messages and replies on your own thread as posting across two threads causes confusion.
