BT Mail- can receive, not send

When I press send a BT pop up says "Your session has expired, please log in again to continue". When I log in again I receive the same message. Very frustrating. Problem started on Thursday night. Sometimes I can send, most of the time cannot. Able to receive emails apparently without trouble.

Re: BT Mail- can receive, not send

How are you accessing your email. Is it on a web browser or an email client?

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Have you tried any other browser, e.g. Firefox or Opera ?

Re: BT Mail- can receive, not send

I don't think it's a browser issue because it's a BT format pop-up similar in format to the "Email sent " one. I have no browser issues - all other sites working well. It is also an intermittent fault. I first had it some months ago, than it went away, and I have been able to send one or two emails this morning. However, as a writer, it is annoying to spend 20 mins writing an email and then seeing your work disappear.

I'm surprised that as a writer you don't use the right tool for the job, a mail client, rather than faffing about with the abomination of webmail.

Re: BT Mail- can receive, not send

Is it a case that your email is working in that it can send and receive but it is due to the time that you take to compose your email it logs you out.

Can you test to see if that is correct by just sending a short email ie one that only takes a minute or two to compose.

Re: BT Mail- can receive, not send

Any length of e mail will be impossible to send if the issue is there. Also, when I am away, I have had the "session expired" message on my laptop preventing email sends so it is not a machine dependent issue. I have also had a 40 minute chat with BT (India) to no avail. Oddly, it seems to be working ok today.
