Re: BT Mail occasionally bouncing back

I also started experiencing this - it started about last thursday. I have a redirect from easyspace.com and no mail is now getting through from that. Tried the BT online help in India and that was just a waste of time.

I have only just registered here and gave my BT email address, but the confirmation mail never came through. Changed to my work email and confirmation arrived instantly - so it looks like BT are also bouncing their own mail.

Just about all my mails (should) come via easyspace, so BT is messing things up big time for me.

I sent 2 identical mails: one to the address hosted at easyspace, the other direct to my BT mail address - so no question that content would affect delivery. The first was bounced, the second delivered.

Does anyone have any idea how to get someone competent to pay attention in BT?

Re: BT Mail occasionally bouncing back

Its quite simple, any email sent on my 1&1 account is rejected by BTaccounts. The same message sent on my BTinternet account is accepted. The same message sent on my 1&1 account to non BT users is accepted. The problem lies with BT. Example below.

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. See below

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address

failed:

"*******-********@btopenworld.com":

SMTP error from remote server in greeting:

host: mx.bt.lon5.cpcloud.co.uk:

rgin06.bt.ext.cpcloud.co.uk Service not available - access denied

Re: BT Mail occasionally bouncing back

would it be possible to get BT to whitelist my domain? If so who would I ask?

Re: BT Mail occasionally bouncing back

Hi

I am experiencing excectly the same problems again. I am using forwarding from 1& and both my wife's account and mine are having emails bounced with the message :

SMTP error from remote server in greeting:

host: mx.bt.lon5.cpcloud.co.uk:

rgin06.bt.ext.cpcloud.co.uk Service not available - access denied

Even my NAS server staus messages are being bounce again at times.

Can the moderators please get someone from BT to look into this. It is just not acceptable to not be able to rely on the mail service. Is beyond BT not to to talk to 1&1 and establish what is going wrong.

Re: BT Mail occasionally bouncing back

I've had a reply from 1&1 support. At least they are contactable. Moderators how can we contact the REAL BT Mail team support to get this sorted once and for all? Looking at my history on this last time it happened was in March. I'll need to try the complaints route which seems to be a waste of everyone time.

Hi.

What did 1&1 say ?

The issue seems to be between a couple hosting companies (e.g. 1&1 and easyspace and perhaps others).

I would hope that for example 1&1 could speak to BT and get the issue solved on behalf of their customers. Pardon me for saying, but so far the blame has been put down solely to BT, which it could be of course.

Re: BT Mail occasionally bouncing back

In essence they'd like copies of bouncebacked emails. That's difficult for me to provide since I don't generally send emails to myself and the random nature of the problem! They think it is due to quote "the bouncebacks are being caused by the 1&1 IP being temporarily blocked". I suspect this is a BT Mail configuration issue.

I agree it's a tricky one. I suspect similar, and maybe something has altered at the BT end. Of course, that could also have found a config issue at 1&1. Without knowing the exact details, I feel that both ends would need checking - and I reckon 1&1 are going to be far quicker and responsive than BT 🙂

Send me a PM and I can let you have a couple of my btinternet email addresses to test against.
