I am having the same issue too, and lots of others reporting on Down Today and other forums. This has got to be sorted. Cannot keep changing the password, this doesn't happen with Gmail or Outlook. It is so unreliable, will you get it sorted please. If it wasn't for the usefullness of having a simple email address I have used for years, I would have dumped it ages ago, and will then mean I would probably dump BT too.
You don't need to change the password, just keep retrying with existing password.
I'm really sorry about the problems you are having with your BT Mail at the moment. I have brought this thread to the attention of our email team.
Same here, over a week now with constant password requests. Getting close to moving now as when you work from home it's annoying.
I've been having the same problem on multiple devices for almost a week now. I'm using Mail on a Mac
Despite all the messages on here the service desk seem unaware of the problem - and nothing on the service status page either.
Also getting this problem, intermittently.. had it for almost a week..

Nothing new here.....just had the following message from BT Care:
Can you try these steps to see if it helps.
1. Turn off (or stop email synchronising) any device (tablet, mobile, laptop) that may have his old password
2. Change his password via BT.com to a password he has not used before
3. WAIT for 2 minutes to allow our systems to clear the suspicious activity flag
4. Attempt to logon via the BT.com email link
5. If successful then turn on each of his other devices one by one and change their passwords immediately
Once again, I've changed passwords in accordance with the instructions and I can tell you IT DOES NOT WORK< DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.
As I write this message I'm getting repeat messages from both my BT internet addresses to enter my username and password.
Me too - using Outlook 2010 client. Presumably someone has fiddled with the servers so as to give us more ads or something. This is really annoying and has been going on for four or five days now. What is being done to fix it?
