When I log in to BT webmail the green padlock and secure bar is shown. However when I click on a email to open it the bar changes - the secure padlock vanishes and the phrase "Not secure" appears. This has been going on for over a month. I had a chat with a BT person who took my details did some check or other and then told me not to worry as the site was secure. I don't share that optimism. Has anyone else had this problem?
Have done that. No difference. When I open an email the bar at the top loses its green padlock and states "Not secure".
When I click on the "i" "should I trust this site" it tells me to be careful as the data is not encrypted.
Other websites are unaffected.
@Oldbill Please use the 'click here to contact the mods' link in my forum profile to send in your details. You can find the link by clicking on my username. We may need a few screen shots to forward on to the email team but we'll let you know how to send those when we get in touch.
Which browser are you using?
Is it the browser reporting that it is not secure or is it a browser add on that has been installed by your antivirus program?
Have you tried a different browser?
can you help me with the same issue Oldbill had please?
every email we open says it is not secure!
Are you using Google Chrome?
If you click on the i symbol by the address bar does it say "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"?
If it does then it's due to assets being pulled through (such as a image) by that email source that isn't over a secure HTTPS TLS connection.
The BT Webmail site should start with https://, is this the case for you?
I'm not on Google Chrome but do get the i button and when I click on it it does say what you have described below.
we also have a desktop which does use Chrome and also has the same issue.
the landing page of the email account does have the https// with a green padlock prefixing it - which is what is confusing me!!!
