BT email not syncing to Outlook

My BT email has stopped syncing via Outlook.  I can access it via the BT.com website but normally I receive emails via the Outlook app.  The message is that I have to update my password which I have done on the BT website but this still isn't allowing me to receive emails via Outlook.  I added my Google email account to Outlook and that works fine and have also just updated Windows.  Can anyone suggest what to do next please?
