Hi,
I had a security alert on one of my email accounts (I have about 6 sub accounts), I think it might have been triggered by my phone autofilling the wrong password, I've tried to reset the password but it's telling me that either my date of birth, postcode or mother's maiden name is incorrect (the details show as correct with my main account page).
I've logged into the email section for the main account and the sub email address is no longer showing in my list of active accounts.
Not sure how to proceed!
Cheers
Paul
Solved! Go to Solution.
When was the email account set up and when was it last accessed?
Presumably it used the auto filled password previously so why would you think that your phone entered the wrong auto filled password?
Did you change your password before you received the "security alert"?
How did you receive the security alert, was it when you tried to log in via webmail (on a browser) or was it via an email?
If you have not accessed the email account in two years it will most likely have been deleted by BT because of no use. see link
Why has my email address been suspended or deleted? | BT Help
Just to confirm, you did not "gift" the email account, to another person or to your self so that it is using a different MyBT to manage it?
Do you normally only access it on your phone using an email client/app or do you also access it in webmail?
All sorted, I spoke to a young lady in the phone, I couldn't reset the password as show how my Mum's date of birth had been added to the email details instead of mine, I must have added it without realising!
That's good you got it sorted.
