Yes. If you set your email account up on T'bird as an IMAP account this will synchronise with webmail. ie what you do on webmail will be reflected in T'bird and vice versa so if you delete an email when using T'bird it will automatically be deleted from T'bird and similarly if you move email from your inbox to a folder in T'bird it will be moved on webmail.
The penny has dropped DS .. VERY HELPFUL and I have just started to set up Thunderbird but I also see I have Microsoft Outlook as part of my Office suite. I think I will try both just to see which one I prefer. Is that an option?
I have marked the thread as solved.
You can certainly try both. My personal preference would be MS Outlook, I find Thunderbird a little quirky.
You can set up both but just be sure to only use one at a time or it could cause conflicts.
Thank you licquorice ... will try both as both new to me.
I should also have pointed out that if you have a lot of emails/folder it might take some time to synchronise all of them for the first time so be patient.
That makes sense gg30340 and will be careful.
Thanks again for your help and advice
Yes .. will be patient.
Thanks again and my last question ... If I try Thunderbird and do not like it can I uninstall it with no loss of emails etc?
That is correct, the emails will still be on the BT servers, unless you deleted them.
Got it GG ... that has been most helpful and appreciated.
