It might depend on whether anyone changed anything in the account settings, I can't recall 100% whether I did for the account in question. It's possible that if nothing was altered, then it could revert - but any changes might stop the revert from happening.

I do hope the above is not the case and that the BT/Yahoo support team can revert to the previous (correct) Primary Sending Account e-mail addresses, even for those that changed to an 'Extra' e-mail account as a temporary fix.

I had an online chat with the a BT Mail support person this morning who said that their team were working on putting things back to how they were prior to yesterday and that it could take up to 24 hours for the changes to become effective for all the impacted BT Yahoo Mail users.

It would seem to me that it would be a simple matter of swapping the Primary Sending account variable back to what it was and getting rid of the erroneous e-mail addresses.  But I'm no IT/mail server expert ...

Already tried resetting the default in settings, zilch. An order rejected because of the email change by BT or Yahoo, a site I've used many times, with all the problems that is going to cause. After the logging out fiasco, you wonder what on earth you are paying for. As someone on another forum said, it's basically blackmail, because they know you can't give up the address with hundreds of contacts to sort through ( we pay for Premium mail after leaving BT ) and they seem to think they can do what they like.

It's time Ofcom tackled BT and their monopoly.

What on earth has your comments about BT having a monopoly, which they don't, have to do with this problem. It is clearly a Yahoo problem and in case you are not aware Yahoo are not part of the BT Group!

Unfortunately they did tie themselves in with Yahoo and that's when the problems started.

So nothing to do with your comments about  "BT having a monopoly".

BT own the infrastructure. They also own Plusnet our latest server. That's getting pretty big to my mind, plus, pardon the pun, as I said the going in with Yahoo and the hacking problems that caused. My only sympathy is with the software engineers trying to sort this out.
