I often get emails which invite me to click a link to verify my btinternet.com Email account. If I don't do this (it says) I will be unable to access my account.
I forward these to phishing@bt.com, and get a polie automated "thank you" response. But today I forwarded two slightly different new ones, but have not received the usual response. Does this mean that BT are no longer actively tackling phishing scams?
Can anyone tell me what happens with these reports? Is BT (or the linked website host) able to target the originators of these phishing Emails? They don't fool me and I guess they don't fool many others, but it worries me that there may be some vulnerable btinternet subscribers who could fall victim to a scam like this. I have been watching the Dirty Rotten Scammers programs on BBC TV and these show that it does happen and some people have been defrauded out of considerable sums of money as a result.
