Blocked emails not going into spam folder

I recently accidentally blocked the Gmail domain and found that a couple of emails from friends with Gmail addresses had not gone to the spam folder. I did a bit of experimenting and it seems that if I block an address, emails from that address go into the spam folder but if I block a domain, they just disappear. I this correct. If not, what might have happened to the two emails that I did not receive?

Re: Blocked emails not going into spam folder

Blocking an email address or a domain should stop the email addresses or anything from that domain getting any where near your Inbox or Spam folder.

Normally, when I block a sender they go into spam.

Re: Blocked emails not going into spam folder

Are you marking them as spam or mark as spam and block sender or block sender?

Spam and block sender I think but I may have marked some as just spam.
