Blocking Emails

Go to solution

I use the 'block sender' facility when I notice an email in my SPAM folder.  So, it states it'll will block, delete all future emails etc (the blocked email I can see in the blocked sender list).

But, the same emails (with the same email address) keep appearing in my SPAM folder.

So, I guess what my question is, when blocking emails (even when they are already in the SPAM folder), are we only sending them into the SPAM folder as oppose to blocking them entirely i.e. not receiving them at all, not even in the SPAM folder?

Re: Blocking Emails

It is generally a waste of time blocking spam email because if you check the headers of the email you will probably find it does not come from the email address it purport to be from.

Spammers spoof email addresses to get around blocks and spam engines.

Just keep marking them as spam and eventually the spam engines will catch up.

Thank you.

Mark as spam (albeit already in Spam folder) and just DELETE them yes?

If they are already in the spam folder it means that the spam engine is doing its job. It is the spam that ends up in your inbox that you mark as spam. It will then move to spam folder where you can delete the contents of the spam folder.
