Re: Bounced back email

@Waynefb

Looks like you are using Google's SMTP servers to send a email from the domain btinternet.com/btopenword.com. There is a policy in place to reject/bounce back all emails that are not sent from a valid smtp server.

This is why your email is being rejected.

You  need to use the dedicated smtp servers for a @btinternet.com/@btopenworld.com domain http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44917/~/what-are-the-settings-for-outgoing-and-incomi...

Hi.

How have you set up your email address to send emails? What app/client are you using?

Has this just started to happen?

See :-

https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370?hl=en

which should enable you to send your btinteret/btopenworld emails using gmail servers.

Re: Bounced back email

Hmmm, dont quite understand this at all.
Im using the email app that came with my phone (Samsung Galaxy a3, android 6.0.1).
Its IMAP & seems to have btinternet for both incoming & outgoing servers and SSL enabled for both. I even tried changing to "SSL (accept all certificates)" and tried sending again but this bounced back too.
It seems only to be emails sent via the council website - ive never seen this error message before and other emails sent from my email app are getting through ok.
Could it be some kind of clash between Chrome browser and the BT servers?
Thanks.
Wayne
