Can I get confirmation that my ex-primary email address has been deleted?
In August I had the happy experience of getting my old primary email address changed to a new one. It took a while (!!), but this forum finally helped me to get there.
However, I recently tried to get confirmation that my old email address had been deleted as I was concerned that my new car insurance had gone to the wrong inbox. I tried a test email but it didn't bounce back. So I sent in a query to BT asking if it (my old primary email address) had been deleted. Someone phoned and said yes it had, so I sent another test email and yet again, the test email didn't bounce back.
It's maybe not really that important (although am not sure I like the thought of my car insurance languishing in a dormant inbox somewhere) but how can I actually get confirmation that my old primary email address has been deleted and will no longer accept emails? Any ideas anyone please?

You could try logging into webmail for the extinct account. I wouldn't worry about the car insurance. If a message from the insurer ended up in a defunct inbox they would do nothing. If it bounced back to them because the address was no longer in use they would, er, do nothing.
