Anyway of The only thing that has sometimes kick started an app/client access is a password change - some have suggested it might take more than one change. I personally believe nothing should be done, but stop all devices auto-checking. Then try only one device every hour, but only do one check. When access restarts, again don't start all devices checking, do one at a time manually.getting Moderator to ask for action?

Sorry but I don't understand this, would you please help.

What do you mean by "stop all devises auto checking"?

I've only got a Tower computer. I generally just sign into T Bird for th3e day & that's it.

I do not want to change password for many reasons.

If you accessed email by more than one computer, say a tablet or smartphone as well - it is these devices that would need to be stopped from accessing emails.

However as you're only using one computer, the advice is simply to do nothing as a few of us have said. You could check every hour or so, but that's it really.

Re: Can't log In to Thunderbird E Mail

This is a problem that has been going on for years .... so why haven't they solved it yet !

Until a few months ago it was usually possible to 'kickstart' everything by

logging-in to webmail at www.yahoo.com and then logging-out.

But now www.yahoo.com goes to www.bt.com and this kickstarting doesn't work !

So does anyone know how to access www.yahoo.com and STAY THERE ?

Johnoo

Yes, I am talking about Thunderbird not working and repeatedly asking for a new password.

Today  my Thunderbird hasn't worked for the past 10 hours - and that is annoying ...

No, it can't be done any more, the back door has been closed. To be honest, it should never have worked in the first place, BTYahoo isn't Yahoo.

Ian,

Same for me, tried to Log onto T. Bird @ 08:00 not working same now 10 hours later.

More than annoying!

Had this a few times before, but cleared after short time.

Even got a BT director involved but no help

Just logged into T Bird again & it works.

But why the problem?

Who is responsible?

How can BT improve, if it's their fault?
