Can't send email

Hi, I have a Premium BT email address

I can't send email since 4 April.

The original setting were:      imap.mail.yahoo.com     and      smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

Mail works on webmail. I changed my password yesterday

Re: Can't send email

Those settings will no longer work ( and were never the correct ones to use in the first place) the correct server is mail.btinternet.com for both incoming and outgoing. Use secure ports 993 and 465 with SSL.

Re: Can't send email

Did you remember to tick the requires authentication box on the outgoing settings?

Re: Can't send email

It's now saying (in relation to the mail I'm trying to send) "Your email could not be sent. To fix this you must make a simple change to your email client (known as SMTP authentication)". Is SMTP authentication what you were refering to above? (or is to do with TSL Certifcation-it currently says None)

Re: Can't send email

Yes, what client are you trying to configure? Authentication in plain text is required.

It will be your email address and password

Re: Can't send email

Standard Imac (2019) mail--I think it's working now. I managed to send an email 🙂 What do I need to do with TSL Certificate? It currently says None. When I hover over it I see what looks like a Certificate. Do I need to click/install that?
