New laptop with latest Thunderbird two email accounts.
One wroks fine but BT mail persists with "unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password".
I can log in OK from Firefox browser so usernae and password are verified.
I have verified imap and smtp settings from:
Removed email account and recreated. No success.
You are using the wrong settings. The correct ones are as per this link.
If you read the post that you linked to you will see that the settings used in that post were only a "work around" at that particular time, over a year ago.
These setting will no longer work, even as a work around.
