Am I understanding you correctly that you are trying to send from a btconnect address through the btinternet outgoing mail server?
If so, that is the most probable cause of your error.
As you have still not actually told us what Outlook settings you are using, I am guessing here that you are NOT using the correct logon for the outgoing server. That will cause this error - it is generated for a detected bad relay, which is what an incorrect logon would be detected as. See post 5 above. When you changed to Infinity, I assume you received new email credentials from BT and those are what should be used in Outlook for the outgoing server.
I was hopeing by now BT mods would of read this email and reset what they need to rest there end. All my other btconnect.com addresses work fine, like I said when it got compromised its casued an issue stopping emails from going out it needs some sort of reset. I would ring BT I just have not got time I'm so busy at the moment during the day I would of thought mods here would of sorted the issue, its got to be BT server email side of it. All outlook settings are 110% correct I am using btconnect.com email accounts because I kept them from the swap from bt business to residential it made total sense, its getting very annoying now. Come on mods! 🙂
I can asure everyone wandering about my outlook settings, they are correct I have looked over and over again to check and if the other btconnect.com email addresses work then it cannot be that difficult to get the settings wrong anyway!
Settings just to confirm:-
Your Name:- Company Name, Email address:- Main Email address (xxxxxbtconnect.com), Incom mail:- pop.outlook.com, out mail:- smtp.outlook.com, User Name:- Same as main email address, Password:- Main Office 365 Account Password, Remember Password:- Ticked, SPA:- Not Ticked
Outgoing Server:- My Outgoing Server:- Boxed Ticked, Log on Using:- User Name:- Same as main email address (xxxxbtconnect.com), Password:- Main Office 365 Account Password, Remember Password:- Box ticked, Require SPA:- Ticked, ConnectionTab:- LAN only, Advanced Tab:- Incom server pop3:- 995, SSL:- Ticked, Outgoing Server:- 587, Encrypted Connection:- TLS, Server Time Out:- 1 minute, Leave copy message:- Ticked, Remove from server:- Ticked, 14 days
Are those all correct?
OK I understand a bit more now, I think. You are using the email client Outlook 2010 to send and receive emails via Microsoft's Outlook.com service (previously known as Hotmail). You are doing this via a BT line, but you are not using BT's mail service, only Microsoft's. Your username for the Microsoft email service is firstname.lastname@example.org, which is also the from address you used in the service.
The failure to send lies with the Microsoft service, which has blacklisted your sender address. This is normally done when they think you've been sending spam.
It is Microsoft you need to contact to get your name removed from the blacklist. I'm not sure this is part of the mods' service.
The settings look correct, apart from it on the outgoing server authentication, it seems that you have SPA on. This is a setting I don't recall off the top of my head being on that page, but it should be off. Don't need SPA for Office 365 emails.
With regard to the mods intervening, you would probably be better off posting on the Business forum rather than here, as I am not sure if the mods would be able to offer assistance with business emails, as they would still be on an acct with the business part of BT retail, rather than the residential.
Before this could be raised to Microsoft, there are a couple of things that would need to be cjecked, as they have requirements before the restriction can be lifted.
How do I contact microsoft?
You don't contact microsoft directly, as you are not a customer of them. You need to get this raised to them via BT. As I said earlier, I'm not sure if this can be raised by the mods, as they are residential rather than business. I would definitely recommend raising this either directly on the phone on 0800800154 or by posting on the busines forums.
I have been in contact with MSand they say the Service Provider is not recognizing the email account.
You need to contact your email service provider to verify your your email account, it seem that your email is not recognize by your server.
Hod do you get on the business forums?
Thats probably true, when it got compromised it looked like all the spam was coming from my main address to all the random contact addresses in the spam I could not stop it until I changed my password, I didnt know how to stop it to begin with for a few days, so every other address that was getting the spam looked like it was coming from my main btconnect.com address so yes your rite someone has reported the address and had it blocked! It makes sense now. Can something be done though?
