Re: Connecting email account with a non-BT email

Do you mean you can't access your xxxx@btinternet.com email  by logging on here https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform Until we can verify your BT email account is working properly there is no point in trying to use it to authenticate on the BT SMTP server.

Re: Connecting email account with a non-BT email

No it's not that-my BT internet email is working fine, but I am trying to set up another email on outlook, but the problems are the outgoing server settings-ie BT-helpdesk won't give me what the settings should be.

Re: Connecting email account with a non-BT email

The Outgoing server settings are as I posted but they would have been no use if your btinternet mail wasn't working. You hadn't confirmed that until your last post which is why I asked.

Re: Connecting email account with a non-BT email

I haven't got a Mac so can't help with the settings directly, but what options do you have for authentication in the Outgoing section?

Under the more options button

Re: Connecting email account with a non-BT email

Port should be 465, SSL ticked Authentication using incoming server info should be unticked and your btinternet address and password entered for authentication.
