Contacting elderly relative whose mailbox is full

Go to solution

My gran is 91 and lives alone. I can't get through to her as it says her mailbox is full. I doubt she knows how to change this. I don't have a car and I'm self-isolating.

PLEASE HELP!!

There is nothing any body on the forum can do to help as they do not have access to her email inbox.

If you can phone her and ask her to give you her email password you could log onto her account and empty the inbox for her however I doubt that is the problem unless there are thousands of emails in the inbox. All BT email accounts have unlimited storage.

Caitlin, is your Gran with BT? More importantly, are the erroring emails being sent to her BT email address?

Just mentioning for at one point, I had 8 years emails in my in-box, despite my using an email client. That means at least 15,000, perhaps even 20,000 or more emails from all and sundry without a problem.

Yes she is with BT. I doubt she would know what an email is. She does not have an online account nor internet access at home. I created this account after being on the BT helpline for almost 18 minutes and then at 9pm was hung up on.

When I said mailbox it was her phone I am sure that’s what the message said.

I don’t know how she managed to it but she managed to resolve the issue herself and I was able to contact her.

Thank you.

Sorry it was her phone’s mailbox that was full

She doesn’t have internet at home or an email of any sort.

I was highly distressed as I could not phone her.

Thank you

Contacting elderly relative whose mailbox is full

I am trying to contact my 91 y o grandmother on her landline and just received the message 'Sorry, this mailbox is full, it cannot accept any more messages'. I doubt my gran would know how to delete messages on her phone and obv. cannot visit her at the moment. How can BT help? I spent 18 mins on the phone waiting and at 9pm I was hung up on. The same happened last week. I have tried twitter as well.
