Deleting mail

Is it possible to delete all mail back from a certain date asily without deleting 10 at a time?

Yes. 

Holding down the shift key, tick the box to the left of the email you want to start with and then using the scroll bar at the right hand side scroll to the email you want to end with and tick the box then release the shift key.
