Downgrading to basic email when transferring from BT

If I transfer my broadband from BT will my email addresses automatically be downgraded  to basic ones or do I have to do something to stop them being deleted after 60 days?

I haven't found the help that clear:

Under basic email it says:

You can get this:

  • When you cease broadband with us but wish to keep your email service and don’t wish to pay for it. This can only be done at the time of placing the broadband cease order

This suggests the new provider would have to put in a request for me (as I don't have to contact BT) but it seems unlikely they'd be bothered with old email addresses. BT chat didn't seem able to give me a clear answer about the process.

When BT are informed that you are leaving BT you will be informed via your MyBT what your email options are. If you do nothing it will be downgraded automatically.
