I've recently found that I'm unable to send e-mails from my primary BT account using either my phone or laptop e-mail apps, but can receive them.   Using the browser works OK.  I also have another BT account and a Gmail account on both, which can send OK.

When I try to send I get the message - Login to server mail.btinternet.com with username xxxxxxxx@btinternet.com failed.  Enter new password, retry and cancel are the three options.  when I choose cancel I get

Sending of the message failed.
Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.btinternet.com. Please check the password and verify the ‘Authentication method’ in ‘Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)’

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: E-mail

Are you either a BT broadband customer or paying for Premium Mail, if neither your email will have been downgraded to Basic Mail which is only accessible via webmail.
