Email scam?

I’ve just had an email from a Nick Lane purporting to be from BT saying that BT Are closing older email addresses and that I must add mine to a BT Broadband account or l will “lose your email address and everything associated with it”

This sounds like a scam. Can anyone advise on the validity of this please?
Thanks

Re: Email scam?

If your email address isn't associated with a BTID that could possibly be the case. Don't click on any links in the email but go to MyBT and make sure your email address is associated with your account.

Re: Email scam?

Whilst the email would definitely seem to be a scam, email addresses not associated with a BT account are nonetheless liable to be deleted.
