So what are BT going to do about the confidential emails we have sent which unbeknowst to us are being routed to a 3rd party?
I'm also getting my emails bouncing back with the following text:
- These recipients of your message have been processed by the mail server:
firstname.lastname@example.org; Failed; 5.2.2 (mailbox full)
Remote MTA be21.bt.int.cpcloud.co.uk: SMTP diagnostic: 552 RCPT TO:<email@example.com> Mailbox disk quota exceeded
IS ANYONE FROM BT MONITORING THIS FORUM? IF SO, COULD THEY PLEASE TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON!
and come to think about, how long has this been going on and who else are BT routing email to?
same problem here including test emails sent to myself.
on the phone to bt support now but not surprisingly hearing message that they are very busy and call will be answered asap.
clearly a major cockup!!!
Just sent myself another test mail and it's come through. Looks like they've fixed it.
Gave up waiting for 30 mins with BT. Hopefully sorted now for you all.
Obviously major issue.
Still not on status update page.
The Steve Webb thing is embarassing, I would hope BT put out something official on this given privacy concerns.
One workaround if you are familiar with setting up SMTP outgoing server on the mail client and you are still on BT Yahoo mail is to change the mail server from mail.btinternet.com to smtp.mail.yahoo.com. That works for me (and has on other occasions when the BT end is down.
