Re: Emails bouncing back from unknown address

So what are BT going to do about the confidential emails we have sent which unbeknowst to us are being routed to a 3rd party?

Re: Emails bouncing back from unknown address

I'm also getting my emails bouncing back with the following text:

- These recipients of your message have been processed by the mail server:

stevewebb2@btinternet.com; Failed; 5.2.2 (mailbox full)

Remote MTA be21.bt.int.cpcloud.co.uk: SMTP diagnostic: 552 RCPT TO:<stevewebb2@btinternet.com> Mailbox disk quota exceeded

IS ANYONE FROM BT MONITORING THIS FORUM? IF SO, COULD THEY PLEASE TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON!

Re: Emails bouncing back from unknown address

Just sent myself another test mail and it's come through. Looks like they've fixed it.

Gave up waiting for 30 mins with BT. Hopefully sorted now for you all.

Re: Emails bouncing back from unknown address

Obviously major issue.

Still not on status update page.

The Steve Webb thing is embarassing, I would hope BT put out something official on this given privacy concerns.

One workaround if you are familiar with setting up SMTP outgoing server on the mail client and you are still on BT Yahoo mail is to change the mail server from mail.btinternet.com to smtp.mail.yahoo.com. That works for me (and has on other occasions when the BT end is down.

Re: Emails bouncing back from unknown address

Thanks liebls. Does that make them more secure?

Re: Emails bouncing back from unknown address

Seems to be sorted now.  Apparently a security update caused it and has now been rolled back!
