Emails going into trash folder

Hello,does anyone know why my emails have went  into trash folder instead of inbox ?

How are you assessing your email. Is it by using a web browser or are you using an email client/app?

Are you using your email on more than one device such as a PC/Laptop and a mobile phone and if so is the device's email app set up as an IMAP account?  If it is, if you delete the email on the phone or PC it will show as deleted and in the delete box on your other device.

Occasionally on my IPad ,but it’s mainly on laptop which my hubby uses

Is this happening with every email?

Is it possible that either you or your hubby are deleting the emails on either the laptop or the iPad or vice versa?  If that is happening, what is done on one device will be reflected on the other and if you were not aware that your husband deleted it on the laptop and you checked on the iPad that email would appear in the trash folder and not the Inbox.
