Ever since the email migration, I can't use IMAP on GMAIL

Hi. I've been happily using the BT internet's IMAP server to retrieve my talk21 emails on my GMAIL app on my Redmi note for some time now. But ever since the migration I get the error message "Email address or password is incorrect." However the BT mail app works fine. I like consolidate all my emails under one app, in this case GMAIL. Is this no longer possible?

Are you using the correct server details or using incorrect Yahoo ones?

The correct server is mail.btinternet.com port993 with SSL

GMAIL's manual configuration offers the option to set the IMAP server which I've set to mail.btinternet.com but it doesn't offer any further options to set port or encryption. I'll Google around to see if there is a way to set this via the limited interface. Cheers.

It will probably set the port and encryption automatically once IMAP is selected. It is the correct server that is important.

Ok. According to uncle Google, you can modify the port and security after setting up the account but since the account setup fails I'm not able to do this. However the defaults are 993 and SSL/TLS. So don't know where to go now.

Nor I, I have just set up a test account on the Gmail app on my Pixel3 and it works just fine.

Delete the account and try setting it up again, select 'Other' but just enter your email address and password and let the app automatically set the account up.

Problem solved. It's the Telstra router. I think it's blocking something. Switched to cellular data and now able to add account. Will play about on the router to see if it can be configured at the firewall level. Thanks for the help.
