I am trying to transfer all my inbox emails to my google account using the google mail 'import contacts and mail' feature, works fine with other accounts except BT, when the log in (to verify my account) screen appears it is the Yahoo login and does not accept my login! is there a solution or anyway round this as I need to backup my BT email or is it just another BT Impediment!
Are you a BT broadband customer or a BT Premium email customer?
Are you on the BTYahoo email system or the BTMail system?
I have just tried to import a BTMail email account, which is in no way linked to BTYahoo or Yahoo into gmail and the box that pops up to verify is for Yahoo. It is gmail that is offering that logon box not BT so it would appear to be a gmail "impediment" and not a BT one.
Clearly you were not trying to help; choosing to point out it was a Gmail impediment and not your employers?
I resolved the issue by going to Gmail settings - accounts & Import – add a mail account – make sure you tick to leave emails on other accounts server if you want both available.
Hope this actually helps anyone else leaving BT.

You have clearly misunderstood that this is a customer to customer self help forum and the only BT employees are the mods.
You have misundetstood. I am just a customer like you. I do not and have never worked for BT.
If you had to tick boxes in gmail it would appear that it was gmail causing the issue!
