So I am trying to add my g mail account so I can see mail in the BT mail on my laptop. So I go to settings, mail, accounts, add account - then fill in GMail as description, then my name as on the account, then if I enter my g mail address the password field is greyed out, if I use the googlemail address then I can fill in the password but when I click save it goes to - Cannot connect to this account. I have chosen IMAP setting. Any help welcomed.
Are you trying to add it to BTMail using a browser (webmail) or using an email client/app?
You may find that you will have to enter the gmail IMAP settings manually in the Advance settings.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I'm trying with web mail
I have followed your suggestion
Filling in the advanced part first and the gmail address I still get - We are unable to connect to your account.
If I fill in the advanced part first then if I use the google mail address it allows a password to be filled then I get a new page with:
{ "id" : "", "error" : { "code" : 2600200, "message" : "Webtop error", "data" : { "code" : "INTERNAL_ERROR", "message" : { "parameters" : { }, "key" : "sdk.common.error.internalError" } } }, "jsonrpc" : "2.0" }
Can you try with a different browser just to rule out a browser problem?
Are you wedded to webmail?
You would be far better to use a genuine email client such as Thunderbird if you are wanting to use/access multiple email accounts from different email providers such as BTMail and gmail. It has a far better user interface and can be customised to suit your needs.
You would still be able to use webmail along side an email client should you find that you need to use it for any reason.
Yes get the same issue with edge.
I just use BT mail cos I've always done it.
I can give thunderbird a go though I can read my BT mails on gmail - I was just not wanting to use gmail as my main method.
So if it;'s not an easy fix don't worry.
Thanks for the assistance.
