I just sent a message asking for advice and it was deleted as spam
Why did this happen?

It may have been too long. Try something shorter.

Re: I just sent a message asking for advice and it was deleted as spam
CALL WAITING message in sender box of bus a/c email inbox
Opened to message from xxx stating time and duration of missed call and box to press to "Play Message". Opens o familiar waving coloured dots with BT logo background. On requesting securing entry details no message. Ditto with personal a/c details. Send to phishing@bt.com and deleted.
Attempts to initiate 2 factor authentication and password change failed although seemingly correct (2x). Helpful suggestions please!

Re: I just sent a message asking for advice and it was deleted as spam
Have just tried again to change my password for main BT ID email account which worked
Also now successfully set up 2 factor authentication within MY BT profile.
Still need to find out how to change password for my auxillary (business/trading) account. Can't see where to do that atm.
The xxxx which appeared on hovering over the CALL WAITING sender with cursor is a fake?
Any other suggestions to protect myself going forward please?

Please edit out your email addresses, as this is a public forum.
Are you a business user, as they have a separate user forum?

Re: I just sent a message asking for advice and it was deleted as spam
I am currently looking or re-set password instructions for that address)
The email address stated was the one from which the scam message came (I guess that could have been hijacked - so apologies for that)

Re: I just sent a message asking for advice and it was deleted as spam
Using a residential BT Internet email account for business usage is inadvisable as its not very secure, and is also not permitted on a residential account. If it gets hacked, then it could put your business in jeopardy.
BT Business use Office365 with btconnect email addresses.
As for resetting the password, all you can do is to ring BT to see if they can help.

Re: I just sent a message asking for advice and it was deleted as spam
I guess the helpful telephone help guy who helped set me up with the additional email address all those (c.15 years? ago) did not appreciate that although I feel sure I pointed it out to him at the time.
I subscribe to Ms365 although that seems messy between the two accounts. I guess I need to subscribe to 365 twice - one as personal and one as business. And that needs two Ms accounts I suppose.

Re: I just sent a message asking for advice and it was deleted as spam
Are you saying that any additional email addresses to main personal one would use the same password as the main one?

No, they would be different.
