Locked out of my account, even after password updates

Recently I had trouble resetting my password, unable to get into my account. After updating my password multiple times I still can't get in. Originally when I created this account we were BT customers and then we switched providers. Am I wrong in thinking with the changes to the BT Yahoo account management, I should still be able to access me email?

You may find that if you are no longer a BT customer and if you were not paying for the BTPremium email service in order to retain your email address, the account may have been deleted.
