Re: Logging in to email

Apologies, I haven't read all of the posts here, so maybe this has already been covered - if so happy to be pointed to the relevant page or pages.

I have been locked out of my email, it said for 20 minutes so fingers crossed I can get in soon. BUT the problem is that I now have to put my My BT login details in first, then it doesn't log me in to My BT but does give me a screen where I can click on 'email' and sometimes I can then log in using my email login details, but sometimes not. I am permanently confused as to which login details I am meant to be putting in at each stage, as the two-step login screen is identical but sometimes it wants my My BT details and sometimes my email login details. This time I have obviously put the wrong details in too many times!

Can anyone please clarify for me whether I have the right bookmark saved and if I really have to put both sets of login details in every time? If I do, is there a foolproof procedure to follow?

Also, why can't I stay logged in? We recently spent weeks getting that fixed?

Re: Logging in to email

I have now managed to get logged back into my email, so will be able to join a meeting that's scheduled for 16:15. I'll check back later to see if there are any replies to my queries. TIA, Sue

Re: Logging in to email

I had the same yesterday ‘try again in 20 minutes, you’re locked out’ message, for no apparent reason, however, since then, I have been able to access my Inbox, albeit slow at times, so I think this is part of the remediation works happening in the background. This has taken far too long and caused too many people too many issues, with little or no communication from BT, which is unacceptable for both business and personal email users tbh! 🤬 Hope all is well for you now ? 🤞

Hi @Carterma, I'm glad it's not just me! Yes, all is well at present, thank you, but I am still unsure what the process of logging in is meant to be - if there was one, I have missed the communication telling me how to do it!

Re: Logging in to email

Use and bookmark the email log on page that apears when you click on the "Email" button at the top of this page. Use your email log on username and password not your BTID or MyBT log on details unless they happen to be the same.

The Stay logged on tick box has been removed by BT.

Re: Logging in to email

Thanks @gg30340 , that seems to work.

I had previously bookmarked a link given to me by BT, which was obviously a silly thing to do 😄.
