MAIL_ERROR_2000

I am currently waging war on unwanted emails.  I am blocking all unsolicited emails - an American marketing company seems to have got my address and is bombarding me with emails from multiple addresses for PPI, casinos, prepaid funeral plans and private health care.  Tonight, each time I tried to block an email, I got the message MAIL_ERROR_2000.

Does anyone know what it means and what I can do about it?

Thanks.

Re: MAIL_ERROR_2000

There would appear to be a problem with the Spam/block email facility. I get the same error and all previous blocked sites are no longer showing in my list of blocked sites.

As with most things with BT email, problems seem to spring up without explanation and usually clear again in a day or so without explanation. I will monitor it and see what happens.

Re: MAIL_ERROR_2000

I have just started to get the same error message this evening.  It just sucks how BT think that they have the god given right to just change alter their software without any form of prior warning to their customers.  Just wonder as all the previous enteries that I spent many hours adding to my blocked senders list will return to the list or will I have to start all over again and have to spend hours again re-submitting them.  BT needs to get their act togeather and in future have the good grace to at least put out a customer wide alert that they intend to do whatever and to inform us of how what they are doing will affect us in the short/long term. It's email migration all over again, NO CHOICE. Just the kind of customer service that we all have come to loathe.

What makes you think that BT have changed their software, do you know something that nobody else does?

Re: MAIL_ERROR_2000

It would appear to be working correctly again. List of previously blocked emails has returned and no error when blocking new emails

Re: MAIL_ERROR_2000

Basically, it's the one time that things tend to go wrong with anything that BT owns.  Try to inprove it, by contracting it out to the cheapest company, they may as well get a group of monkeys to do itSmiley Very Happy

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Even with the recent issue of an apparent system fault, blocking email addresses is actually futile.

You said it yourself about "from multiple addresses", hence these will keep changing - they hardly ever use the same ones. Spammers know this and hence randomize their "from" addresses.
