Migration of emails from btinternet.com to Gmail

I am trying to migrate emails to gmail, but keep on getting the message below, as though the link is being made to the former Yahoo account.

By agreeing, you'll allow ShuttleCloud Migration to access:

• Yahoo ContactsRead and write
• ProfilesRead and write
• Yahoo MailRead and write
• Yahoo MailFull access

I agree to the Yahoo OpenID and OAuth terms

When I agree I get the following error message.

We were unable to connect to your old email account, likely because you are logged into a different account with that provider in another browser tab. Please sign out of all non-Gmail email accounts in other browser tabs (for example Yahoo Mail or Outlook.com), then close this window and try again.

Does it make more sense to use a specialist software to carry out this migration?

No, you are trying to Import them to Gmail rather than export them from BT Mail. The latter is not possible directly for mail only contacts, and the former seems to be a problem with Gmail that considers @btinternet.com email addresses to be Yahoo addresses and directs to the wrong server.

Yes you are right...I'm importing to Gmail. What is the solution to Gmail recognizing btinternet as yahoo and directing to the wrong serve...is there a workaround...?..is this an issue that BT should be dealing with? Thanks so much for any thoughts!

No, it is an issue for Google, they are pointing you to the wrong server. Not sure how that gets resolved.
