Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

I have no idea the exact number of accounts migrated any more than you do and that was not the point of the post. I was posting about this thread rather than speculating about numbers that I have no knowledge of.

I was showing a rough breakdown of the number of posts and that it can not be said that there are over 900 posts/ complainers on this thread about the migration when that is not what the numbers show.

As an example. This very post is skewing the number.

I am not saying that there is not a problem that needs to be resolved as a matter of urgency.

EDIT: And as if by magic three posts from one poster follow that more or less say the same thing in each post.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

I totally agree.

This new system is terrible:

SLOW, slow, slow.

FAR more spam

Folders: which used to be in alphabetical order have been rearranged in an apparently random order and there seems to be no way to re-arrange them.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

I absolutely agree with everything in this post - especially about the folders thing which is driving me mad.

I use a PC with Firefox to do the majority of my email.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Bowlingman - you are so right. Plus I am getting far more spam than before. The old system actually was brilliant for spam filtering - I hardly ever got any, now I am getting several very obvious spammers/phishers a day.

Terrible new email "upgrade" - is BT even listening?

I know there will be a LOT of other people here who are struggling with the ghastly so-called upgrade to the email system.

The issues of slowness, failure of the spam filtering system, folders etc must now be well known to BT.

I wonder if any sort of pre-launch BETA testing was done with any users at all?

Does anyone know if BT is listening to its users?

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

And?

What's important isn't the numbers of posts, or numbers of posters.

What's important is the number of people receiving a poor service from BT  & appearing to have their very real issues ignored, or at the least, not being addressed in a timely manner.

And... nowhere did I say that was not important.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

What seems interesting is, whilst everybody's experience here of the new system is rank, it's not uniformly rank. I've had no problems with the folders, their order or name being cut-over, and indeed the one good thing I find in the BT system is that it's easier (give or take a 'hovering' problem) to change the names of sub-folders. But others seem to have had their folders trashed. Most have  a problem actually using BT webmail in terms of slowness and mice movements and clicks not working, but the problems seem subtly different. I've had lots of kosher emails sent to SPAM, others seem to have had an influx of SPAM into their inbox. I haven't had a problem sending e-mails, others have. Everyone has problems with Contacts,  and composing mail using them, but they don't seem to be quite the same problems.

Is it possible that there is more than one variant of the BT Webmail system in trial here (clearly this must be a trial, as it doesn't yet work)? Or is it scoped differently for different browsers, or different Windows variants? We all have problems, it just seems that these are being reported subtly differently. Of course a good webmail service (and Yahoo wasn't a bad one, particularly its ability to find pictures etc.) should work the same way on all platforms, but one thing we do know is that the BT service isn't a good one.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

This happens to me the whole time....all the time.  Now it's a guessing game....which e-mail do I point and click at in the hope of opening the one I really want to view!  Ridiculous in the extreme.

BT obviously are not listening
