My desktop shortcut does not appear to be working. When I click on it asks me to confirm password

Go to solution

I have a BT Mail shortcut on my desktop which umntil recently takes me direct to my email account.  For some reason when I click on it now it takes me through a procedure including password each time until I arrive at my email a/c.

What has happened and how do I create a new shortcut in the future on Windows 10.

I am an OAP and not very communter literate so can you please make your answer easy to understand.

Thank you for your help and support in this matter.  Ian Gow

Copy this link  https://home.bt.com/login/loginform?TARGET=$SM$https%3A%2F%2Fsignin1.bt.com%2Fbtmail%2Fsecure%2Femai...

and then go to desktop and right click, select new > shortcut

paste the copied url in the 'Type the location of the item' box, click next and edit the box for whatever you want to call the shortcut (email?)  click finish.
