When I send an email on the BT app the recipient will see my name as John Smith Smith. When I send emails on my laptop my name appears correctly to recipient - John Smith. Spoken to BT often but they can't fix it.

I had this problem too. The BT Email app uses your first/last name from webmail. If it is wrong you will need to log into webmail and go to settings (top right corner) and update your name there.
