Ok - deleted email account in Outlook on PC.
Restarted and added acount again - still no joy. The folders are populated with old emails but no emails appeared at all in my inbox.
I tested the account, twice, and the MS Message appeared on Webmail.
This has worked for years without problem but I'm now deleting the folders in Outlook to see if this cures the problem.

Previous actions, deleting the folders, made no difference (even after restarting).
Can someone please explain why putting INBOX in the root folderpath works? If I do this it does minimise folders e.g. so far no Trash, Archive, Bulk Mail etc.
My head hurts with this one!
Getting silly now.
Putting INBOX in root folder path brought email in but I couldn't send out. Having removed that option the email that didn't send is sitting in my outbox.
Deleted account, OST file etc and will try one more re-install.
I would suggest that you turn off all the other devices that are using that email account when you set it up.
Hi - this is now weird.
Deleted the acount and OST file again, restarted PC.
I made sure all other devices were off.
Before installing the email account thats been problematic, I installed and old email account I use for sign ups / possible spam. It immediately syncronised and emails poured in.
I then added the missing email account I really wanted back and nothing! Didn't even attempt to synchronise.
If I hit send / receive all three accounts appear to syncronise, only one doesn't receive any email???
Possibly something switched on or off in Webmail? Running out of ideas.
There may be a problem/corruption with the account synchronising with the BT servers.
You may be told that as your webmail is working there is nothing that BT can do to help however I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem. Once they have read this they may be able to help. They are very busy at present so it can take up to 24 hours for them to contact you. They will do this by posting on this thread.

Just by way of update, I've sent an email tonight via Webmail and it has appeared in the sent folder of both my PC and Laptop.
So just the Inbox not working?
