Somewhere along the line I have messed up my settings for Outlook on my Samsung Galaxy 7 and can't get it to work. My incoming settings areIMAP server: mail.btinternet.com

Did you actually change any settings recently, or is it that you can't get or send emails - which may have just started to happen?
If the latter, then the thing to do is nothing, no settings or password change. The issue can sort itself out after a few hours or a few days.
(I assume you're in the UK ... and not on holiday/work abroad)
