On my iPhone (SE on IOS 16.6) the trail is
seeing->mail->accounts->click on relevant account->account->SMTP->primary server (on) then
Server on
Host name mail.btinternet.com
username your email address
password your password
use SSL on
authentication Password
Server port 465
