Since BT recently changed the email format, I now have to click on a link in each email to display pictures, which I haven't had to do previously. How can I configure my emails to always display pictures automatically?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Go to Settings > Mail > Block Images > Allow all images
Just so that you are aware, having the images turned off by default was probably done as a security enhancement.
By having "All Images" turned on senders of an email could be able to find out that you have opened the email if they know how to do that and if you have automatic image loading turned on.
If the email is sent by a scammer they may be able to see:
Your location.
Your Internet service provider or mobile company.
Device you used to open the email.
Operating system you’re using.
Email client you’re using.
Web browser you’re using.
and therefore the spammer would know that the email address is active and could of course decide to send more spam to that email address.
Obviously it is your choice but you may wish to use the Image selection in a more targeted way such as only allowing images from known contacts. If you receive an unknown email address that is not in your contacts you can then decide to allow images if you decide to open it and it is not from a spammer.
Thanks. I’ve chosen the option for contacts.
Go into the settings then click on Mail in the left hand column.
