Re: HELP PLEASE IS THIS BT EMAIL GENUINE

Important Information About your BT Email.

Dear BT Customer,
As you've used your email address in the last 90 days, we need to let you know about some changes we're making.
We're closing some of our older email services. That means your BT email address will stop working after 7th April 2018, unless you add it to your BT Broadband account. If you don't do that, you'll lose your email address as well as the folders and messages associated with it.
Keep your email by adding it to your BT Broadband account
If you want to keep it, it's quick, easy and free. Just link your email address to your BT Broadband account by following the steps at  ***Edited*** .

We sent you this message because you've got BT Broadband. If that's not right and you want to find out how to keep your BT email address, go to  ***Edited***.
Don't need your email address any more?
If you don't want to keep your email address, and everything associated with it, tell us and we'll delete it. ***Edited***
Thanks,

Re: HELP PLEASE IS THIS BT EMAIL GENUINE

Hi @Gary4

It's definitely a scam email, I've removed the dodgy links from the post.

You can tell when an email is dodgy by hovering your mouse cursor but not clicking the links you will usually see the location of the link in the bar on the bottom of your screen in this case it takes you to a site not owned by BT.

Thanks

Stuart

Re: HELP PLEASE IS THIS BT EMAIL GENUINE

I get a lot of these emails too. Is "BRAND BOARD" a form of wording that BT ITSELF would use, because to me it is as if the scammers have deliberately corrupted BROAD BAND in order to prey on those who would just think BROADBAND without a second thought, and click on links. They say that scammers often build in a deliberate error because they know that those who are alert to spelling errors are not likely to be fooled, and are not worth the hassle of stealing from!!!
