We have a similar situation, we have two BTinternet accounts in our house, one for home use and one for my Wife's business use. My wife has now retired and we want to close the second broadband accout, I have spoken with a copuple of BT people and they are suggesting this cannot be done and we have to pay for a 'Stand Alone' seperate subscription to keep her email address working.

Just to clarify, the adress' are BT Broadband or BT Yahoo address'?
A moderator would be the best person to help.
Both accounts are BTinternet accounts.
Do I have to contact a moderator directly or will they pick this up in the thread?

I don't think you will be able to have a BT Business email address added to a residential account however I have asked a moderator to advise if this can be done.
Things are a bit complicted here.
The phone line and broadband accounts were set up by my wife as residential accounts, however at a later date my wife's company took over the phone line and calls and made them business, however the broadband is still in my wife's name as residential. All very messy I am afraid.
Is the email address an @btinternet.com or a btconnect address?
Both email addresses are @btinternet. Com

Thanks for getting in touch. I'm sorry for any incorrect information you were given about the transfer of your email addresses. You mentioned people from BT told you that you could not move them across without paying for Premium Mail. Did you speak with these people over the phone or are these people you happen to know personally?
I called you today on your contact numbers but missed you. I have moved both of the email address from her account to yours. Ideally I'd like to speak with you to confirm everything that I have done but if you aren't available today or tomorrow that's ok. Do you need any help closing the other account down now? Or, are you happy to close your case?
