Security information incorrect

When trying to reset my email password on web mail, the security questions (date of birth, post code and mother's maiden name) are correctly answered but I'm told there is an error. I've tried both upper and lower case and an old postcode from a previous address but still not right. Is there any way I can view/correct this information on My BT so I can reset forgotten passwords without having to phone BT? Thanks

Re: Security information incorrect

If per chance you are trying to reset a sub-account email account you need to use the security answers for the master account.

You can only change the security details for MyBT by logging onto your MyBT and going to "your account" then "your profile". You can not, as far as I am aware,  change the security details for your email via that route.

If you are on the BTMail system have you tried this link

 https://www.bt.com/s/apps/appsselfserve/index.html#/forgotPassword

If you are on the BTYahoo email system have you tried this link

https://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/chpasswdsso

Re: Security information incorrect

Thanks for your reply. I'm using the account holders details (that's me). I've just spent 10 days trying to get my password reset by BT and have finally sorted it, but would like to ensure that in future I can just use the forgotten password link. There is obviously an error in the info BT have (as I do know my own DOB, post code and mother's maiden name), but unless I can see it I can't correct it. Surely it must be visible somewhere?

Re: Security information incorrect

Is this the link you are using https://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/chpasswdsso

This is the second link that @gg30340 posted, and is the one you should be using.

Re: Security information incorrect

Obviously the answers to security questions should not be visible as that would defeat the reason for having security questions as anybody who managed to gain access to your account would be free to change them.

If you are on the BTYahoo system see this link

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13394/~/how-do-i-change-or-reset-my-personal-security...

As I said, the only other security question that I am aware of is in your MyBT profile

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/46778/c/7339,7368,7407/related/1

The only other way of changing any security problems would be by contacting BT and they should be able to help, albeit they may have to send you the details to the account holder's (your) home address
