Sender able to see I had opened email?

Go to solution

I challenged a company about an email I had received, I had deleated it without reading it, they were able to tell me when I had sent it to trash, What Time, and What date!! How can they know this and how can i stop this being able to happen?

I had not sent any read receipt requests.

The company have probably put a tracking pixel in an image in the email.

To stop it happening you need to log onto your email account and go to settings and then "Mail" then "Block Images" then select an option that suits you.

When you open an email you will then be given an option to open the image if you want it.

If you had received it, it wouldn't be you sending read receipt requests, it would be them. That would notify them that it was deleted unread.

Thanks for the advice, have done what you suggested but don't suppose I will ever know if this was the cause, as this was the first time I had challenged an email.
Can I see a pixel picture?
Many Thanks Ray
