Sending emails on thunderbird

Go to solution

I have thunderbird connected to my BT account. I now find I cannot send emails. States login to account BT mail failed, Then another message unable to authenticate outgoing server SMPT. Check password and verify authorisation method in account setting outgpoing server SMPT. Have done this and it seems ok. Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account?

If neither of the above your email account may have been downgraded to a BTMail Basic account which can not be used with an email client

Yes, from time to time, it just  wants me to re-enter all the login details, then it's OK again.
