Setting rules for Spam E-Mails

Hi, I have two questions which hopefully someone in the group can gave me advice.

1: When a setting a rule, does the "Asterisk" in front or after a word work. If I select the "Discard" action, where does the Spam email go.

2: I also use an iPad to manage my E-Mails through BT Webmail but when I Select Settings > Mail, the option for Rules is missing. Can you not set rules from and iPad?

Re: Setting rules for Spam E-Mails

Hi @niagh01

The 'discard' option deletes the email.

Are you using the BT Email app on your iPad, or the Safari browser? Does the option show in either?

If you are using a web browser on your iPad make sure you are using the "full" or "Desk Top" version rather than the "mobile" verson.

Re: Setting rules for Spam E-Mails

Hi, apologies for the delay in responding, I have just returned from holidays.

Chris,  I can't see an option on the BT Mail App on my iPad for setting rules. On the Safari browser the rules are missing from the drop -down mail menu, the rest of the options are there, as are on my Windows Desktop PC.

gg 30340, On the iPad, I switched to Desktop version on both Safari and Google Chrome , the Rules are missing

Re: Setting rules for Spam E-Mails

I had this same query earlier this year. BT told me they have removed the rules option on mobile devices.

Use a browser not an app and use it in the Desktop Verson not the Mobile Version

Re: Setting rules for Spam E-Mails

I’ve never used the BT app and my query to BT was re the browser option. They told me it was removed hence why I could no longer access it.

Re: Setting rules for Spam E-Mails

I have just checked on Chrome using the Desktop verson on a Samsung Android tablet and phone and rules are there. I set up a rule on the tablet and it was accepted.

Can only tell you what BT told me when I contacted them direct. I can no longer access them on my Apple mobile devices. The OP is using an iPad.

Re: Setting rules for Spam E-Mails

Thanks for getting back to us @niagh01, I hope you had a lovely holiday.

Rules can only be viewed on the desktop version of webmail (not viewable on tablet or mobile version)
